It is more complicated... but only because it offers more to those who use it. It's like... a house telephone compared to a cell phone. The normal telephone is extremely basic and only includes what is believed to be necessary (calling people)... cell phones have extra features like cameras, text messaging, ringtones, etc. Also, BBCode is translated into HTML... it's basically a shortcut
