Hey i'm nuts, xnuts (among others) on maple story. I'm a girl contrary to popular belief. I've known esgar for a long time now from maple. i've recently cracked the code of where he got the name esgar from. made me feel special... shhhh. and i probably know a lot of you too :O I'm not much of a gamer, but i used to be very into maple story. i like the sims, and i'm waiting for the release of spore :D

Lack of quests. It's true. I think so anyways -
it's definitely one reason. other being screwed up economy, screwed up players, and taking way too long to lvl >.<

I blame all of that on the lack of quests. If there were more quests, there would be less merchants (they could make money from quests). There would be less noobs (wouldn't get bored of the game as fast, so they would learn how to play actually). You wouldn't realize just how long it was taking to level (since you would be preoccupied with the qeusts).

Training for one hour for like 8-10% is like a chore. I'll come back when new towns come. Perhaps Magatia or Crimsonwood Keep.When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. A best friend will be in the cell next to you saying, "Damn, that was fun."

INCORRECT there would still be merchants even if there were more quests TRUST me ive played on ragnarok private servers with tons of quests for items and exp and the place is still crowded with merchants

Arge... I could go on for decades listing all the flaws of Maple Story. You pretty much have to spend all your money on NX for 2x cards to make it any fun at all. Otherwise the training would be unbearable. Not that it isn't already...
