Account Requirements
To create an account, you must: be at least 13 years of age, have a personal email address, not be offended by occasional foul language, allowed to view mature discussions and content (not including pornography), and most importantly - you must be willing to comment from time to time ^.^

Inappropriate Usernames
Your username must be readable and appropriate. By readable, I mean I don't want to see any of this: |\/|04|7|-|. Also, I don't want to see any inappropriate usernames (of sexual, violent, or racist nature). If your username is found to be unreadable or inappropriate, it will be changed to something that I find appropriate (bluebunny for instance). I do not have a word filter applied to the username field so I am putting my trust with you guys. If you guys can't be mature about it, I will enable a word filter, but I would prefer not to do this.

Personal information
Any information you provide (account information, comments, discussions, etc) can be viewed by anyone and may be saved to others' computers, search engines, or printed. If you don't want your personal information to be in the hands of others, don't post it.

What information is collected?
Your IP Address and other information of this nature (browser, browser settings, operating system, screen resolution, etc) are collected for research and to keep the site working for as many people as possible. This information can be viewed by Administrators and possibly others. The data may also be displayed on the site in a way that does not single any single person out (percentage of people that use Firefox or 800x600 resolution for instance). This information can be (and usually is) collected by any website you visit.

What information isn't shared?
The email and password you provide for your account are hidden from other viewers. The password is encrypted as soon as you create it and the email is only used for account-specific problems that cannot be solved via Private Messaging. Everything else is fair game.

Backups and important information
In an ideal world, your information would be safe from server crashes and there would be plenty of resources to store all of your information and comments. Sadly, this isn't a perfect world. Servers do crash, space does run out, and data is lost. I do take precautions to prevent the loss of data, but even backups can be far between. So, if you find a discussion important, or you have a guide or post you would like to have for future reference, you may want to consider saving it to your computer.

Inappropriate behavior
Any inappropriate behavior can result in a ban from the site. Please help to keep this a fun and enjoyable environment for everyone. Check the rules for more information on what is expected of you.

Firefox 3
The site is designed with Firefox in mind. Since each browser has flaws in the way they display webpages, I've chosen the browser I believe displays it the most correct, is secure and user-friendly, yet runs efficiently across many different systems (windows, linux, mac). Also, it is open-source and has numerous add-ons and themes to choose from to make it feel like your own. I hope you will choose to use Firefox as I have.

1024x768 Resolution
Although it is possible to view the site at resolutions smaller than 1024x768, it will most likely cause scrolling which is very inconvenient. 1024x768 is the low-end resolution of this day and age, so I feel it is a good resolution to work with. Many monitors provide 1280x1024 or better, so this shouldn't be a problem. If I find that enough users are still using 800x600, I may change the site around to accommodate, but until then, I recommend 1024x768 or better.
